Here's a link to a video produced by Ural HQ in the U.S. describing the importance of correct loading. Less than 20 mins. running time.
I like the definitive 20%-70%-10% load recommendation starting at 08:00. First I've seen of that, and the demo of deliberately overloading the nose of the sidecar at 14:28 clearly illustrates that point too.
I've always tried to load up with the heavy stuff down low and evenly distributed where possible but this video really spells it out.

Maybe the 20th take and he overcooked it a bit too much? Dave from Ural doesn't like standard shocks either

I am here (fortunately) to tell you that you DO NOT need the front overloaded to get the rear wheel lift.......downhill into a tight bend and late braking. David did the demo at very low speed but I can say it is much more dramatic at speed on a mountain road.

In Hal Kendall’s excellent book...Sidecar Operators Manual...the rear wheel lifting and the situation causing it is discussed. He says that when you lose it! (the situation causing the rear wheel to lift) is quick and rarely controllable! Lee you were lucky!

Also had a rear wheel lift off and can vouch it is indeed a moment you wish you had brought spare undies.
