Not to savvy with forum protocols, so bear with me. I'm a 49 er with about 55 years riding solo's . From BSA bantam through DT1 Yamaha and a big variety of other makes, the last being an 1150 BMW GSA. Presently I'm bikeless. Been looking at Urals for some years. Reliability being one roadblock as was cash. Missing the Adventure touring life and with my better half of 50 years on board, we're set to pull the trigger this year on a 2021GU. We are on the SurfCoast in Victoria and looking for all the help we can get. As we are travelling to NQ in the last half this year, trying to get some formal tuition from Jon Taylor before taking delivery on our return.

G’day Haitch,
I have just recently purchased a 2020Ranger, Riding 45 years and have a GSA 1200 also. I did a 2 hour session with John at Kentucky which certainly led me to purchasing. I have had a very steep learning curve in the last three weeks. Today was my first with a smile on my dial so it is now slowly coming together. Still a long way to go yet. The advice I have received from people on this site has been a great help and has inspired me to keep progressing. Great advice is on hand and for me I very much appreciate everyones input. I wish you well in you adventures.
Jake

Thanks Jake. I rang Jon today with a view to some tuition. Waiting to hear from him. Looking to drop a deposit soon as Eurobrits in Greensborough don't open till tomorrow from their Xmas break. Did you buy from them? Perhaps a ride together one day, would be good.

Welcome aboard, and go for it! They're awesome fun. I have a 2012 Retro with 19000 klm on the clock. As long as you don't ride it like a sports bike, it will not let you down. A very different approach than two wheeled riding but every bit as much fun!
I'll only part with mine for a newer one!
Cheers, Hubie.

Welcome to the journey Haitch. I'm only about 3-4 months into ownership with 2020 Sahara and loving it, plenty of great people here and happy to share their wealth of knowledge. Cheers Pokey.

Thanks Pokey. Are you down this way? All that have replied here so far including me, are on the “right” side of Melbourne. 🤣🤣🤣 ......At least you have the Otways handy. 👍👍 My english teacher would have smacked me for saying “Haitch” 🤣 This is a great place for you to ask any Ural related questions H. A lot of Ural km’s combined here. Cheers, or is that now coons ? lee
