thanks lee, when i had the flat, i stole the tube and rim tape from the spare as it has the broken brake disc mounts. When i went to replace it i was unable to get it back on the carrier, it appears thanks to you guys there is a spacer stuck on the cap!! Which comes from inside the wheel, hmmm dont know how they got it on there.

yeah, i held the collar in the vise and with some love lube i was able to get it loose and off
fits easy to the carrier now, i will need to find out what is missing or displaced from the hub

That is not the distance bushing or the bit the seal runs on. The only place it could have come from is the SC axle.......some, not all, have a spacer on the axle before the wheel goes on or it could be the washer from under the axle nut. In any case, remove it from the spare wheel retainer and worry about where it really belongs later....🤣
