Hi Keith, I wouldn’t be without mine. About the same as yours except mine has flashing lights for balance. Centre light stable with nothing flashing to the left or right at both idle and average cruising rpm then all’s good. My idle balance (@ 900rpm) is done with the idle screw. If balance is out at the average cruising rpm (4000 to 5000rpm) the cable adjustment is used. Just got to make sure that everything balances at idle and average cruising rpm. Cheers Wheels. 😎

Cheers Keith Was adjustment done on idle stops and cables or only cables ? I only adjusted the cables and balanced it when running above idle , it was way out. The idle was out slightly , I need to find the idle screw , I wasn’t sure. but I’ll do it all again in about 700km when I crack 6000km , check valves , change oil etc. Now that I have the tool I can do it all properly 👍

I’ll be doing it all again after my next ride (700km).

Hi All. I just purchased a new balance device. Gave it a little test run on "Ruby". Looks to be a good unit. I was trying to get a carb tune same as Keith. Could not find anyone with stock. The alternative was buying from Ireland. Anyway, I ended up with this one from Raytech. I think it is made in OZ.

I have a vague memory that there is no idle adjust on the new TB's and that is controlled by software? read that in a press release or somewhere - Lee should know. Is Idle still 1050 rpm or have they dropped that back?
Either way, check balance at idle and then balance at over 1800-2000 rpm for cable balance.

I was about to ask that question. I took some photos of what I thought it may be. Here is one for discussion. I also have a stray cable and connector. Anyone can advise what that is please.

Andy for the carb models the idle rpm is 900 rpm and feels just right. Any more at idle and your stopped at lights etc it seems to revvy! if that’s the right word. Sometimes she will idle away happily at 600rpm like a single cylinder Lister with a monster flywheel. Luv it! 😎

Andy for the carb models the idle rpm is 900 rpm and feels just right. 😎 And that was a source of confusion for years. People swore black and blue the idle for the EFI's was meant top be 850 because the emission sticker said so. it wasn't, Ural just hadn't got around to printing a new sticker. (took them 2 years...) It is a gentle reminder that there are differences between models and not all Urals are the same
