I have used the pacsafe when unsure about an area. It's basically a wire purse, so lay it out on the rack, place the items to secured, pull the purse closed and lock to the rack or bike frame. All that said I concur with Lee, never been a problem without the net, but times are changing.

Therefore, we always get hammered with the exchange rate. We try to support Ural Oz as much as we can. But, sometimes it is difficult. For us, I make some stuff and buy as well, when we can. Thanks for the headsup on the rack price. On the security thing, we have travelled extensively in our outback regions since 2006. Not on Ural, but 4WD..We have some hotspots where your pacsafe might be of value. If in Coober Pedy, I suggest staying in one of the underground motels, or camp in the gated caravan park. Ground is rock hard. Same in Alice springs. Choose carefully. Tennant Creek is questionable. Try Banka Banka further North. In Katherine, stay out of town. We liked a place called "Manbulloo". If you dont have it yet, there is an App called Wikicamps. This will show what is available, where and how much. Everyone uses it. So grab it as a reference and work around the comments. More later, or ask away. We have done most of it one way or another. Including those untravelled on 3 wheels.

So we decided to get a pacsafe 120, we can biff it in the chair and lock up our riding gear when hiking, the thought of all of it going missing although unlikely would be too much of a bastid considering the cost of a pacsafe, besides if I ride naked my wife will get envious of all the hot chics who want me 😆...is it 7.00am yet 😂

Small outdoor furniture cover, or a couple of Oxford bike covers work. As do Quad bike covers... the outfit will tend to disappear once covered.
