Had my rig for about 6 weeks and have absolutely loved the 1200km so far. After some advice on outfit taking off to the right especially with road cambered that way. Has caught me a few times but would really like to get some experienced advice as I'm really on a steep learning curve. TIA Cheers Pokey.

Has caught me a few times but would really like to get some experienced advice as I'm really on a steep learning curve. TIA Cheers Pokey. To much leanout when your sitting on your your outfit will cause exactly that Pokey. Added camber in that direction makes it worse still. Sitting on your outfit on a level surface you should have approximately 1 degree leanout. Remember though when you adjust leanout it affects the Sidecar toe in which should be 10mm. Lots of theories kicking around re sidecar setups but get your leanout and sidecar toe in right and you will immediately notice the difference. Having said all that travelling on roads steeply cambered either way will pull you one way or the other!...it’s the nature of the beast pokey! It took me a lot of time and scraped knuckles to get my outfit smack on but the effort was well worth it. Cheers Wheels😎 Note...the pics (from one of the best repair manuals I have come across) are not in order. Go from the bottom up!

Thanks Wheels for your response, i will not rush into any big adjustments just yet, will check current set up, especially leanout but riding it i am generally pretty comfortable. Just the off camber to right on occasions which just results in me slowing down to feel more comfortable and in control. Mates that ride with me seem to think there is too much lean out, but i will check it and report back. The more kms i get up the more appreciation i have of the effort required to ride. Cheers Pokey.

Pokey! a quick fix that may solve your leanout or pulling to the right on roads cambered in that direction is to go up a click or two on both your rear shocks (leave the sidecar shock where it is) and go for a ride. By doing that you reduce the sag when you get on your bike hence reducing the leanout. Probably a lot better to try that and see how it goes than doing the whole adjustment process. Don’t be to concerned about a harsher ride by going up a few clicks because it will barely be noticeable (Ural’s are harsh beasts no matter what you do). When I find I have a long haul on badly corrugated dirt roads I frequently reduce tyre pressure and keep the speed up as best as possible to prevent a harsh uncomfortable ride and help neutralise any higher preset that is on the shocks. Cheers Wheels😎

I’d have to say very unusual for an outfit fitted with chair on the left to pull RIGHT. I’d be checking your toe in of chair wheel and also look at tyre wear, may give an indication of what’s going on. Regards

Pokey,
Like Beetle says pulling right seems odd on roads cambered left sloping 99.9% of the time. I wish I had a bit of the same problem as all my adjusting has been to alleviate left pull.
Cheers

Dean, if you mean during acceleration from low speed......that is normal.

No, just a general bias left at cruising speed 80-100k. Worse in windy conditions of course. Wife han't been able to chair lately so I also find it worse at speed without that load. Bruce checked the toe in and it was only 6mm so I've got 13mm now so see how it goes.
Cheers

Cheers Deano Don’t tell anyone - I often use a light ocky strap from right side of handle bar to a place directly behind. On windy long days in the saddle it takes the strain away. Just have it easy to take off the load once you get to a town or such like. I call it my “third Arm”
