Hi wombat Will go measure up in next couple days 👍-cant remember straight off the cuff-do know i used two diameters-thinking i may have needed to slip inside each other Since got a .6 mig welder and would be easier than brazing - All still together and slowing no signs of cracking or letting go

HI Wombat-sorry for delay-still have to go to work-counting down.I did measure up .Its mild steel pipe and i struggle with imperial measurements ,but reckon its 5/8 ths or approx 16mm OD-1.5 mm wall thickness.Happy to hear someone is going to sort something for you.To anyone else building racks i am probably teaching them to suck . But my main points to make the job easier are 1-A good set of pipe formers where the pipe sits into the formers correctly lots of china stuff does not 2-make up a test bend marked out in 50mm lots-this gives you the correct radius and tightness bend possible without deforming pipe 3-Anchor bender down well to bench 4- Draw the steel slowly 5-Drill pipe with 16mm drill bit then cut in half-gives you a shoulder to weld and fits/looks better with better strength Was my first go at it and to date my racks are holding up well
