Newbie question on Ural tyres and changing.
I’ve been changing my own tyres for over 1 years, manly practice as I have to change tubes or repair them when I get a flat in the middle of nowhere.
I run Dunlop 606s on my tenere. I have had mates with other tyres that they swear by etc etc . But some tyres from experience are really hard to break the bead , almost impossible sometimes.
My questions.
How long to swap the spare for any position on the Ural ?
How much effort is it to swap a spare for any position , with all the brake discs etc?
How hard is it to break the bead is on the different brands? I’m not sure how many brands we have access to in Australia that fit ? Heidenau ? Duro?
Do you carry a small jack ? If so any recommendations?
Thanks
Now I’m no expert ,I carry spare tubes and tools if I get a flat on my bike I can be going again in about 60 minutes , lots of swearing goes in but I get it done eventually. Depends on front or rear , weather , location , and if I need a coffee or beer .

1/2 hour wheel change on 2019 + Easy peasy bead break on Duro or Heidy Easy tyre or tube change with appropriate levers and practice Centre stand will do front and rear SC done with chair in the air.
I do carry a jack.......usually.

For me it would be 60 minutes to change tube. Just wondering if it’s quicker and easier than change wheel. I have zero experience with the wheel swap from spare to any position but have watched all the videos

The more you do it the quicker it gets. You can change a tube in the SC wheel easier than swapping the wheel. Don’t even have to remove the wheel or use a jack.

Personally carry small bottle Jack. Cheers Pokey

Mine came with the spare on the chair boot lid - very handy for faster changes. I guess a couple of spare tubes would be just as valid.
Beads are simple - the Heidenau K28 has stiff sidewalls due to the flat profile but breaks well - if in doubt use Chris' suggestion and take a G Clamp.
My Jack is a piece of 3"x2" that is about 1 1/2' long and has a notch cut in one end and a chamfer on the other. placed correctly it lifts the front or chair wheels. Weighs nothing which was my main consideration since I already have the spare on the back. Not my idea, think I saw it on the 'merican forums.
30 mins is about right for a rear wheel change using the spare - add a tube for about 10 mins max - its all about technique. No right or wrong way, just the way that works for you. Have done an impromptu rotation (long story) of the spare, chair and rear at the Guyra Caltex and I am pretty sure it wouldn't have taken much longer than a hour if I hadn't had to stop every five minutes and answer questions - UDF is a thing

Longer and forged for the extra leverage. Pretty sure the Ural can handle the extra weight.
