It could be head and base gaskets settling/squashing. Lets hope that's what it was. Pulled the covers yesterday having received my new gaskets a bit of madness there, apparently Aust Post has a little melt down if you send an envelope to a Parcel Post address as a letter and not a parcel it goes in the back room till someone figures out what to do with it. Lets not get into the fact that anything bigger than a tiny letter cant be delivered to my address because the contractor my get a hernia leaning out of his hilux to put it in the box which means the "A5 sized large envelope" would never have made it to my place anyway.... sigh.. bring back real posties ffs. /rant. I was going to check them at 800 km's but did a trip of to Crowdy Head which put it at 1041km's since last check. Right side - 0.12mm on the Exhaust. 0.1mm on the Inlet - brilliant. Left side - 0.23 mm on the exhaust. 0.19mm on the inlet - lol Left side is difficult at the best of times because I don't pull the chair, but I made the effort to get is as close as possible last time. So the gap is no longer decreasing, it is increasing on one side only which is most likely to be things settling down. Now I have a benchmark, it is time to do another 1000 kilometres and see what happens and check out just how many uses the new gaskets get.

One travelling Tassie with us still has the original gaskets on his 2011……..😳 Sounds like you could measure the valve clearances with a tape measure. 😂😂😂
