Evening gents, our fast idle from a cold start seems to have fallen off the bike somehow.
When we cold start she is idling a little below normal warm idle, while it isn't really an issue I wonder if anyone else has had the same?
Maybe we should have bought a bigger bag of fast idle to last a bit longer π

His bike and mine were in the same shipment. I think what matters is whether the exhaust valve continues to work. Mine gets lazy at times.

Tested todayβ¦. Idle up on mine is about 5 seconds and then settles.

Ok, ours used to go for around 1 to 2 minutes then settle.
I have blanked the tube for the exhaust valve now as it seems to come on every time we stop, even for 5 minutes then it coughs and splutters to get going.

Not sure but I think the vacuum pipe tells the valve to close. The temp sensor tells it to open. So the valve is open all the time??

Are you allowing anough time for the cats to heat up (thats what the valve is for) The valve will reopen after the cats are hot enough. About 73 degrees Celcius. I know you can ride earlier, but be patient, let the valve do its job and open up.Then see what happens. I dont think its going to overheat down in Tas. If you're worried buy a cheap temp gun and aim it at the base of the spark plug.

Yeap, put a bolt up the end of the vac hose to see what difference it makes, not worried about overheating here at 11 degrees and pissing down π, patience isn't an issue, on first cold we start the tart then put our gear on and usually by then the valve is open or not far off depending on temps. BUT every time we stop, only for 5 minutes or less when we restart after pictures and a fart she runs like a bag of shit and the valve is shut again, on opening the throttle the valve does open but it sputters and pops etc with no power so I thought I will see if this makes any difference. Only did it yesterday and rode to QT today in freezing and heavy rain (more worried a bout hydrolocking today ππ), tomorrow to Derwents Bridge and check out the wood work etc so let ya know the results ...if any π

Thanks. On a similar matter..My mate from Ararat had an experience with his recently, and may be worth keeping in mind. On startup, the left throttle body blew off. Re-attached again and running ok. This event was presented to Uralla. Who reported that it is not uncommon. Particularly if starting with any throttle rolled on. Seems its a no no. Hit the go button and leave the throttle alone it seems. Just a heads up for ya.
