I folks,
Just a suggestion............
I have been checking various top-boxes & have settled for the very reasonably priced SCA Safe Cases from Super Cheap, they are certainly a lot cheaper than the industrial ones. They are solid, dust & water-proof & come in a range of sizes. The size I settled on for the rear of the tub was a 540 x 400 x 210mm at $59, doesn't stick out past the tub & not to high to cause wind drag (this will be my galley) A smaller one, 330 x 280 x 145mm will fix to the fender rack on the bike rear (this will take my photographic gear, chargers, torches etc) ......And another 330 x 280mm in the boot for spares etc. ....... I have 9 more weeks to recover from a second ankle fusion, then we are off on a 11,000 km run. More details as we get closer.............. as I hope to connect up with as many of you guys as we travel south from Emu Park, our intention is to camp 1 night, pub the next. Anyway, check out Super Cheap if you are interested in these type of boxes

Hi Blairy, The box on the rack looks great. I have used a normal bike soft bag on there, as well. Just a word of caution on what you put in the box on the rear fender rack. I have a fibreglass top box on mine and stuff bounces around quite badly, to the point of destroying a (cheap plastic) air compressor. Admittedly we had just done the Strzelecki track and Cameron Corner rd from Lyndhurst to Tibooburra!

G'day Blairy,
I've been using a similar set up using these type of boxes as side and a top box. They have stood up to the the corrugations on the Gibb "Road" and up to Bramwell Stn Cape York. The only mods I had to make was to put a strap around it as the heat made the lid bulge a bit, thus making them not so dust or water proof.
ooroo, tone.

Just bolted on this custom made top box rack that I got from Old School Engineering in Cairns. Fantastic service from those guys. Waiting for my new Gobi Black top box and mount to finish it off. Powder coated and solid - fitted beautifully. I'll post some more photos with the mount and box fitted. Attachments:

Where the cardboard dummy Case is mounted may have to be moved back 5" (which will require a different bracket) as it's a bit awkward for a 67 year old to throw my leg over. But we will manage if we have too....................
Cheers Blairy

This mine. Picked it up cheap from the local Kawasaki dealer after he removed from a bike he traded.
