I'm guessing the Yellow Ural is Jons "test /loaner bike".....even looks like Jon with his back to camera. A second Ural top left, so bound to be out of Ural HQ.......hope all ends well.

Hi Guys Just letting you know that the bloke in the ditch (me!) is doing OK. Resting up with a broken leg but nothing more serious than that. I'm very thankful that my fiancé who was passenger in the sidecar got away with only a bruise or two. I was on a Ural of Oz training day and unfortunately had a "two wheel" instinct kick in approaching the culvert and got the approach line wrong. I realized and got back closer to the correct line, but then keep looking to the left wheel to try and check. Yup when you look left you go left, and unfortunately I dropped the left wheel off the culvert going at walking pace and it tipped. Dumb rookie mistake . . . . . Jon was very supportive and understanding of the whole incident and I can't thank him enough. I'm looking forward to going back and finishing the course, and hopefully placing a order on a new outfit. Given the quirks with sidecar driving, I'm certainly glad I signed up for the course and didn't try and work it out for myself on the open road! All the best, Rod Southern Highlands NSW

Glad to hear that you folks are OK I guess we have all had moments where the two wheel side of the brain kicked in.I know I have had a couple where but for the luck of the gods it could have been very very nasty. Its all part of the learning experience, but one part we could do without. Welcome to the world of Ural. All the best with the healing leg, Macca

Hi Rob, Sorry to hear about the leg, but if that's as bad as it gets then I guess it's a better outcome than it could have been. Keep the faith......all the smiles to come will erase an inglorious beginning. So glad your passenger was not hurt too much as well. Hope we meet on our Urals one day.
cheers, lee

Thanks again guys. Rod here again but just registered on the forum as Vizo. After a month or so lurking around for Ural info I thought I should join up properly, especially given my unplanned introduction in this thread.
How does the saying go? "Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get up"! Hasn't beaten me yet :-)
I like that "Inglorious beginning" Uralee ! Sums it up quite nicely. Mind if I use that? Best I had up to then was misadventure.
Cheers - Rod
