Greetings all on the forum from a new Ural rider in WA.
After looking at Urals over the last few years I was umming and arring over buying a new 2020 until I came across an unloved 2014 T model at the right price which i added to the garage. I'm a long time rider on two wheels and love my desert riding and camping trips.
This ural will be a local grocery getter, dog and kid transport and odd weekend camping getaway machine with my two sons (aged 11 and 12).
Here's a list of jobs I had to do to bring it up to scratch! Perfect timing with the Covid-19 problems slowing down our business I had something to keep me busy.
- powdercoat repairs - flaking, rust, etc. with a semi-gloss high temp rattle can paint
- replaced cracked final drive and did pin fix
- fixed sidecar disk brake - air in piston, and balanced rear brakes
- fitted snorkels on efi throttle bodies
- fixed rear brake light switch
- three new rims (under warranty) and new spokes (paid for).
- changed all the fluids, greased the drive splines
- changed out the headlight semi-sealed unit with a new Narva one (aust compliant) and new H4 globe
- added an LED spotlight
- rebuilt the steering damper with 10w SAE fork oil
- new tank badges (will fit tomorrow)
- rear rack (will fit tomorrow)
The forum has been a wealth of information in this process!
