Decided to break the monotony of being at home, loaded the Retro on the trailer and headed to Lightning Ridge. Stopped at Warialda over night, - deg in the morning. ❄️Onto L/R on Tuesday. Glad we decided against riding the Retro as very cold and windy.💨 Chose The Opal C/P, spotless amenities and camp kitchen plus staff very friendly. Based on it’s history there are Opal claims every where, and Ural roads (rough gravel) wherever you ride. Plenty of rides out of here so probably stay 4 or 5 days. Cheers, Bobsie. 😉        |

Great stuff Bobsie. Keep the pics and story coming. We still have at least two and a half weeks of lockdown boredom here. 🥴
The Ridge is definitely on my list. Princess picked up an opal off the road at White Cliffs so wants to try her luck again. 🤣

Lightning Ridge! what a great place but the dirt roads are tough on Ural tyres.
Had a just about new pusher on and four days of riding Lightning Ridge and surrounds has that pusher on it’s last legs. Zero tread in the centre with very little on the sides....surprised big time and a first for me for such rapid tyre wear!....worth it though but going to have to put on the spare to get through the next week.

Yesterday started with watching 800 homing Pidgeon’s released from a truck here in the park to fly back to Newcastle, a 6 hour flight. Then a 65k ride out to a beautiful artesian pool, but in a terrible location, so back to L/R for a steak sanger. Yum. Today. Awesome. 😉😍😱 We we’re asked to use the Retro for a film shoot. It’s a long time since Mad Max was made and the guys were doing some costume shoots. The pics speak for themselves. Leaving here tomorrow. Cheers, Bobsie.😉        |
