G’day,
Well I finally got to have a lesson with Jon Taylor up in NSW. I started with knots in my stomach and quite daunted, but as we progressed this changed to exhilarating and a wow factor. Came away with some great knowledge and knowing that I have a lot to learn. These bikes are amazing , now to start considering what to do about buying one. Fortunately I live in an area where I can put my new learnt skills to practice and have a starting point. Once I purchase my plan is to keep learning with practice till I am comfortable to start adventuring out. Awesome

Just do it mate! I bought one with about 1km experience and have learned on the fly. It's such a different discipline but I can say honestly that I've never had more fun on a motorcycle than on my Ural. I do love flying though corners on occasion on my two wheeled machines, but the fun factor of the Ural is unbeatable!

Welcome aboard tvan. Seems like you're hooked just like I was after my first ride on a Ural, so.... different from any other machine you either love 'em or hate 'em. You're obviously smart enough to realize there is a slow and cautious learning period but once you have some confidence then it's non stop smiles with all the miles under your wheels. Good luck !!

Great to hear you enjoyed the test ride. I purchased during height of lockdown and am just loving the journey, no test ride, just did the deal over the phone/ net and I'm definately not regretting it at all. Once you purchase would love to catch up for a ride. Cheers Pokey.

www.cyclesidecar.com/downloadable-guides-articlesThe above link will get you downloads of Hal Kendall’s excellent books on sidecar operating!....essential reading for anyone starting out on a Ural and a good brush up read for those that have been riding a while. Hal’s cornering tips are excellent and work. Both books deal with basically the same thing but one is more comprehensive than the other. Download them both, they are great reading (they can also be purchased on Amazon). Cheers Wheels😎
