Yes, If that was the last Ural Adventure Ride, there was more than enough mud to go round. All 1wd bar one 2wd. Plenty of pics around of this one Keith, Look at Ural Australia website. Also UTUBE 2020 Ural Adventure ride. Its in 2 parts. Just saw the pics on Ural Australia website and they are when the Queenslanders came down and they missed out on all the fun.

Ok , fantastic thanks everyone. Old mate , I’m in Ingleburn. 2018 is carby? I see you profile pic now , I like those screens. Deano thanks I like screens for some protection on freezing cold days. Heavy rain and having something in front of me has saved me from 2 birds over the last 15 years. Not to mention rocks , big bugs like Xmas beetle to the face. I flip up my visor and bang I cop a bug in the face. I dunno how people ride open faced helmets doing 1kph or more. I’m soft Wheels , great pic. Thanks guys I was set on only 2wd but could be swayed to 1wd now. Obviously less stuff to grease and Maintain and there might be teething problems ? But I’m gonna need that higher exhaust , I know the low pipes would be ok , but every time I see them getting banged up and bottoming out in videos makes me cringe.

G’day Keith,
Still learning and very green but having a ball, I am in the bush quite often, its our backyard so to speak. Yes agree a 2WD may do things better but unfortunately that will have to wait as I took delivery of our bike in December 20. I have standard exhaust but maybe down the track I will get a high exhaust. for me personally I would not worry too much on what to get yet. I would . Just worry about getting a bike and the ride it and learn its characteristics and in time what improvements you want. Thats pretty much what I am doing. I was riding a lot on my own since moving to Gippsland and too many near misses on the solo was my deciding factor. Now I can’t keep off the Ural,
What a great dilemma to be in. Good luck
Jake

Hi Keith. I too am waiting for a GU 2WD. I was looking to the high pipe as well. Got this from our local distributor. It was enough to no longer be interested in the high pipe as this time. Just for your info and anyone else.

Get a high exhaust by all means, but don't focus too much on the pretty but extremely expensive GPR system. For a fraction of the cost you can have a custom pipe to suit.
About the 2wd, I wouldn't bother. As others have said it isn't going to do as much as you might think. As the wits on another forum says - 2wd lets you get stuck 100m further from help. It'll help where it's slippery but on rocks and hills the clutch will always be the weak link.

Hi roscoau. Do you have an alternative to the GPR? Any help appreciated.

You make it, or have someone do it for you. Mine uses the original headers, goes into a 2:1 section and exits in the center next to the tow bar. You can find many examples over on Soviet Steeds forum.
