Hi All. Order placed for Sept/October delivery. 2wd Gearup, Satin Burgundy with full underbody protection. Aluminium motor, tyranny and drive train.. Full Adventure Pack and standard pipes (for now) Now the wait and some time with Jon Taylor, as we're heading up that way. Many recently asking why 2wd? Here are my reasons. Based on many years punting 4wd around we have become aware of its limits and drive accordingly. 2wd, just like 4wd is our plan b or out clause. Will not intentionally be trying to bog up.. Our advancing years and underlying circumstances will not allow too much exertion performing manual recoveries. Anyway, we will see how we go. There is still the winch option. Thanks to everyone for your guidance. No doubt, help will be required when the fun begins.

Good stuff I'm very jealous. But I'm about to bite the bullet myself and get a 1WD so I can get out there soon.

Cheers Haitch, your reasoning for 2WD is identical to mine. Reckon your machine will be 2022 spec and looking at pics the exhaust would be easy to "massage". Pre-cats look to be welded in place, wish I knew what was in a pre-cat.

Pre-cats look to be welded in place, wish I knew what was in a pre-cat. First random 2wd engagement, now spare wheel only usable on the rear. WTF There is another issue, which may be part of the 2wd engagement problem. I'm assured these will be resolved on our EU 5 models. However, this oversight re the spare is unbelievable. Really really hope this is resolved for ours.

Gooday Haitch I was not aware of the wheel issue, bit of a PITA. Guess we will be carrying tubes and tyre levers and such, I know how to change motorcycle tyres [old type] but still a PITA. If it makes a difference we are much more likely to get a puncture in the drive tyre, reason being that nails and screws and such get flicked up by the front and happen to be at the right place / attitude to be caught by the rear. Young bloke I worked with before I retired and moved from Melbourne bought a house in a newly being developed area, he and his neighbours were getting punctures left right and centre due to screws and such falling from Tradies utes and trailers.
