Hello all! After lurking around this forum for some time, a post by “bewildered” has prompted me to become vocal. His comment about this being an excellent forum with oodles of helpful l information is so true! Live in Encounter Bay on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. No dealers in SA so went to EuroBrit in April then thought about it for couple of months. After reading just about every post in the forum, I took the plunge, paid my deposit beginning of June - Gearup, Outback Orange with Adventure pack, black engine / transmission and hope for delivery November / December………… geez that’s a wait! I have ridden bikes since I was 17 yo, that is (cough) quite a while ago... At the moment ride a BMW R1200R – this will be my first 3 wheeler of any sort. Cheers, Dave

Welcome Dave, reckon I am no longer the new bloke LOL. Looks like you and I and Haitch have machines coming to Eurobrit in the same shipment. I reckon we chose the right dealer, yesterday whilst having a blood test the Pathology Lady and I were chatting, turns out she is ex Melbourne and lived opposite the family who own Eurobrit [three degrees of seperation ?] By her account they are excellent folk and the fact that they have at least three machines on order is encouraging as regards familiarity with the brand.

I believe Eurobrit have sold more than 40 Urals.......the owners, Frank and Jay are very pleasant but the important part comes down to the fact that as a dealer they are only as good as the people they employ in the workshop.......same goes for all workshops including mine. 🤣

G’day all! It does indeed seem that there are at least three of us waiting for the Oct./Nov. delivery from EuroBrit, hope all pans out well. Which leads to this….. I live in SA and am approximately 800KMS from Greensborough in Vic, have no experience driving a sidecar and am terrified of Melbourne traffic, so getting this new lovely back home is a bit of a challenge. When I do get it home I have plenty of quiet roads and open paddocks to practice and hopefully become proficient I own a 7’x 5’ box trailer with 12” sides and am considering using this to bring it home, and have it for future use. Have a daughter living in Melbourne (only 10 mins from Greensborough) and visit quite frequently so would be good to use that to bring it over and visit the dealer if need be. I understand WB to be about 1470mm; track 1170mm; and ground clearance 172mm. I’m considering putting a false floor/platform??? in the trailer lifting the floor by 180mm… Sides would then be around 120mm so the engine/crash bar should clear the side of the trailer, with the sidecar wheel as far as possible to the left. Would really appreciate comments /suggestions/advice. Cheers, Dave

I put 2x 75 mm sleepers on rhs. in my sons 5ft trailer.....did the job. 👍
Why not fly over. Spend 2 or 3 days at your daughters getting used to the bike, then ride home. I flew to Newcastle for my first Ural and rode home to Melbourne around the coast after 500km around Newcastle overnight so I could do first service before the trip home.

Plenty of quiet roads and gravel around here to self teach. Might be worth checking out. Derek from Eurobrits has a dedicated bike transporter.TWT Stuart Gibb. 0429 960 736. www.twowheeltransport.com.au could be worth a call.

Good information gents, I intend to trailer my machine to Albury as I cannot NSW register it in Melbourne, also have no wish to learn on the Hume nor run a new engine on the Hume. A mate up here will loan me a 10 x 6 trailer but prior to finding that I had considered one way hire of a car trailer, pretty sure that arrangement is available ex hire companies. You may consider that Dave but be aware you may not be permitted to hire if you turn up with a tow vehicle not rated to pull a couple of tonne. Thinking your platform thing would work but maybe high centre of gravity ?
