G’day all!
It does indeed seem that there are at least three of us waiting for the Oct./Nov. delivery from EuroBrit, hope all pans out well.
Which leads to this….. I live in SA and am approximately 800KMS from Greensborough in Vic, have no experience driving a sidecar and am terrified of Melbourne traffic, so getting this new lovely back home is a bit of a challenge. When I do get it home I have plenty of quiet roads and open paddocks to practice and hopefully become proficient
I own a 7’x 5’ box trailer with 12” sides and am considering using this to bring it home, and have it for future use. Have a daughter living in Melbourne (only 10 mins from Greensborough) and visit quite frequently so would be good to use that to bring it over and visit the dealer if need be.
I understand WB to be about 1470mm; track 1170mm; and ground clearance 172mm.
I’m considering putting a false floor/platform??? in the trailer lifting the floor by 180mm… Sides would then be around 120mm so the engine/crash bar should clear the side of the trailer, with the sidecar wheel as far as possible to the left.
Would really appreciate comments /suggestions/advice.
Cheers,
Dave
Mate, I too am very nervous. So am going to arrange delivery from Greensborough to the Surf Coast. Plenty of quiet roads and gravel around here to self teach. Might be worth checking out. Derek from Eurobrits has a dedicated bike transporter.TWT Stuart Gibb. 0429 960 736.
www.twowheeltransport.com.au could be worth a call.
