I’ve posted this before but thought those that haven’t seen it may find it handy. It’s important to get this procedure right. Cheers Wheels. 😎 note...you’ve got to logon to be able to download the PDF. Fitting Ural universal joint_driveshaft to ....pdf (489.35 KB)

I am interested in how many km's people are getting from their uni joints. Any feedback guys? I have 24,000km on mine and the uni looks good. The donut is starting to show some wear. No cracking but the holes are starting to oval out rather than being circular.

I managed 45-50k from the first uni........sealed, no greasing ever. 35k from a donut.

I got about 60k km for the uni joint, and at 80k km I'm still on my original donut.

Glad you posted that Wheels, I have the FD off and pulled the yoke to remove the burr in the pin hole (same issue Wilmo had, I just never got around to it). Couldn't find my hand drawn cheat sheet so this saved me. Went hunting through my Ural junk and found this tech bulletin covering the input seal. Another great tech drawing showing pin placement. I am interested in how many km's people are getting from their uni joints. 100,000 kilometres according to the box. Mine has done 33,000 kilometres with slight marking on the inner posts. Probably would have been good for another 10 or so. Unfortunately I stuffed up the replacement (long story) so another will be on order. Mat said it is also used in the Lada Niva but he hasn't found another local replacement. Anyone know of a local substitute?

I took mine to the local bearing shop. He measured it and said yeah same as BMW.....and Mercedes steering column. ..had to get it in but was all good.....sorry I can’t recall the number. OR, check the measurements on this one.....
It might be a Hardy Spicer 268-060........check the measurements though.

Thanks for the feedback on the mileage on your uni Andy. I reckon there is a few more k's left in mine. I would be seriously thinking about it replacing mine if I was heading off on a long trip.
