I took mine to the local bearing shop. He measured it and said yeah same as BMW.....and Mercedes steering column. It might be a Hardy Spicer 268-060........check the measurements though. I took mine to the local bearing shop yesterday, after they stopped laughing at the size of it and the strange Cyrillic writing on the box, he measured it and also said it was possibly BMW from the Hardy Spicer list. No stock in Aus, Order cost on the old price list was $100, he could check the new prices if I wanted, but agreed getting it from Uralla would be cheaper either way. I am happy to buy from Uralla, posted at less than $50, I was just interested to see if there was a local "common" equivalent because if I could have walked into a bearing shop last Saturday I would have.

And now that it is happily fitted I would give my kingdom for a 45 degree zerk. Should have read Bruce's post before I put it in. I used to be able to grease it without a problem, but they have changed the diameter of the aluminium nesting caps and the gun won't squeeze in anymore. So either a new zerk or a recessed adaptor or needle.

It might be a Hardy Spicer 268-060........check the measurements though. This should go in the thread you set up for parts info... DONE. Hey Lee, you might have jumped the gun adding it to the parts list - the end caps on this uni are too big. I will double check today but I thought they were 18-19mm not 23. Looking at the SS site it offers these up for the 2WD cross shafts.

The Neapco 1-0300 (Spicer 1100) won't go anywhere near it. I don't have precise measurements, since my good micrometer seems to have vanished in the move, but my cheap one tells me the end caps are 0.74"and the lock ups are 1.75" or 19mm and 44.5. As I said, pretty rough measurement.
Where is the thread for Parts info?

Looked there when you added DONE! to rossco's post and found nothing so thought there might have been another thread I missed.

I just bought one of these to give me access to the tiny Zerk/Grease Nipple in the final drive Universal. I imagine the old hands will be all over it, however the newer guys may not. There are many around but, I use MacNaught Guns. Just what I have. Most all have the same nipple anyway.

Not exactly what I advocate…….not greasing a sealed unit is better than blowing the seals out…….all depends on the type of seal. Who lubricates a sealed bearing? ‘Just sayin’ !
