Gday team, After years of trawling the internet, reading reviews and scouring forums I finally have taken the plunge and bought my first Ural, a low km 2020 ranger. Bought via online auction, I have my missus to thank for encouraging me to “go on, just chuck on another $100, bikes in the shed are more fun than numbers on a screen”. Turns out everyone else stopped bidding after that…great, what the hell do I do now 😂
Should have it shipped to me it in the coming weeks and will give it a decent shake down over my summer work shut down period and get acquainted with it.
Looking forward to the learning curve ahead and appreciate the wealth of knowledge that exists in the forum.
Hope to see a few of you on the road.
Jon

Ural showed up on a freight truck today. Quick service, and some fresh fuel and it is running like a clock. Had an issue with the speedo not working but charged the battery and disconnected the earth lead for a few minutes and it’s back on deck. Rego next week and time to get stuck into riding it over the Xmas break. Inside the tub had a bit of water in it so a bit of light rust has formed in the seams. Quick tidy up with a sand and spray gun should see this sorted. Pretty happy overall.

...Quick service, and some fresh fuel and it is running like a clock. What was the story with Pickles thinking it needed a "Highway run to "balance the sensors?" And if you restore the Cordura SC cover, let us know what product you use. Mine is a little faded and I would be interested to see what works. Plenty of suggestions over at SS and I like the idea of Kiwi Leather Dye.
