Or, Здравствуйте!
Michael here. It's seems like three wheeling is contagious. I have seen a few older Urals around our neighborhood on the Northern Beaches of Sydney for years now, but they're pretty rare. I also have a friend who's been traveling the country on a BMW outfit with his wife for the last year or so. It was his enthusiasm, and the lure of riding something different to my 82 Harley Sturgis, 77 BMW R100 RS (which I've sold to fund the new addition) and my 02 650 Dakar, that made me place the order for the new Gear Up.
With this current Ukraine situation and the complete fog around how shipments are going, it could be a long wait. However stumbling across your forum has quelled the anxiety of the waiting and given me some food for thought.... but I do know it's going to be a whole lot of fun when it eventually arrives.
Oh, and yes, I've done some training at Jon's place too. That's what sealed the deal with the bride.

Welcome Michael. Not a bad bunch here. Good info to digest as well. I authored the chronicles of the recent 2022 deliveries. Have a read. It is amusing in many places. Gotta keep your sense of humour when your ship is bobbing around and outside land location resources. 🤣🤣

Hi Michael, welcome to our world. Yes you will have a wait but it will be worth it. 😂. At least the war should be settled by the time you get delivery. Or we will all be in it and delivery won’t matter. 😡

Mick, I live in DY too. feck it's a small world. Be interesting to see how the marque grows in the area. One of my best mates, also a Mick (and a true gentleman as well) is planning on getting a Gear Up. Although he's waiting until I have mine. He's asked me to take his wife flying in the hope of talking her out of it.
Haitch, I saw all those posts about shipping. frustrating to say the least. Oh well, it will be what it will be....

Welcome Michael The wait will be well worth it ! My new GU is my first Ural, never had so much fun on the road and all at speeds which do not raise the prospect of attracting the attention of the blue light revenue office.

G’day Michael,
Welcome, once the wait is over you are going to love the Ural. For me who would have thought. Been riding BMW’s and Guzzi’s for decades and then along come the Ural. It was long a dog that tries to rule but once I trained her she begs each day to be taken out. These bikes are incredible and to ride now at Such a nice pace and smell the roses is so worthwhile. Had mine just over a year and have just put 10000km on the clock. Not bad considering Covid and a few other things. Hope it won’t be too long for you.
