Hi. I live in Aspendale, Melbourne, and would be happy for any owners who might live close by to show me the finer points of owning this great bike. A couple of questions to start with: 1) is there a generic oil filter I can buy from any bike shop; 2) how do you get the bloody air filter top off, there doesn't seem to be enough room to lift and slide it off; and 3) can I buy a replacement air filter from any bike shop? Thank you in advance. Mark

The air filter top just needed a bit more gentle force (those wires are a tight fit) which in my history of mechanical things has meant a replacement of a now broken part😁. I'll definitely take you up on that offer to meet up. I work at Cerberus so even better.

Welcome Mark. In Sydney here, but like you, new to the seeing the light of the Uralista. Don't worry about left handers, they'll come to you eventually. Sydney traffic is brilliant to hone sidecar skills. :-)

There are others I have in the video section if you're struggling with the beastie.

Hi Markp welcome, Another Oil filter that works well is the Mann Filter W75/3. You should get 2 for the price of a Ryco. The good thing about the Ryco is that almost all the big brand auto shops carry them so they are convenient. I buy Air Filters and Fuel Filters direct from Ural and normally keep a spare of each on hand. I tried a Framm air filter recently and wasn't all that impressed with the build quality, and the fact that it was only a few dollars cheaper, so went back to Ural. As for getting the Air Filter out - Undo the 4x screws, lift the right side of the lid and wiggle it above the filter on that side then slide the right end across the existing filter, then pop it out on the left hand side. A few inches of wiring on the early EFI models would have saved the hassle, but I guess the guy measuring it up thought it was going past the inlet elbow on the right which is where it wants to sit when the entire box is out. Last tip - You have a 2014. This is the First of the EFI's and not all Urals are the same. Ural has a habit of changing builds and parts, sometimes mid production, so always check the catalogue when looking for stuff. Parts List > Click HERE <

Finding a vacant area seems to be a harder challenge.😄
