After doing the morning training with Jon in February I thought I would be good to go. Lots of emails to Clare and a visit to Uralla a couple of weeks ago, I didn't realise there were so many options. Best part is my wife is onboard with it, already looked at jackets and helmets, she has not ridden with me since our last outfit in 1980! My 2023 GU, fingers crossed, is being built this month in Petropavlovsk, where I see the weather is anywhere between 1c to -10c. I wonder how much vodka they will need to drink to keep warm during the day and what impact it may have on the build. The factory is a large shed, no tiled floors or white walls, maybe there are wood burning stoves for heating? But I guess this is all part of the charm and intrigue of Urals. When will it arrive is anyone's guess, if all the ducks line up in a row maybe June or July? As long as I have time in the saddle before September for the annual Ural Adventure ride. I have a growing pile of farkles in the garage to fit. I called Greg at Rocky Creek as I had just bought a mini compressor of his and wanted to make sure with the lithium battery that carry on was best. I have a 650 Vstrom rented for eight days from this Tues in the S.I. of NZ :-) Greg is off next month with to do the recce, apparently it's 3 days out of Port Macquarie with the guy who bought his old Ural. I have done some of the dirt west of there, great riding to be had. Attachments:

The Recce is for this years Adventure ride, Glen confirmed Port Maq as the central point for the overnight stop which means the second day ride is out of Port Maq and only 80k's from my place - who knows, I might actually be able to get there this year. Wonder if I should trailer the bike

Andy, it is OK. Clare will have the trailer to get your bike to GT.

...Andy, it is OK. Clare will have the trailer to get your bike to GT. Maybe I should just arrive with it on the back of my Ute? save all the hassle of loading it onto someone else's. As it is, I have faith in your ability to identify and offer a treatment program when we catch up soon
