That is not good news for Ural Australia. Chang Jiang have been making Sidecars for 70 years, so calling it a Ural copy is like calling a Ural a BMW copy - technically correct but...  Everything I have read about the new Chang is pretty good. Quality control is tighter, performance better and the ride superior. To dominate the factory sidecar market in Aust all they need to do is sell them for a lot less. Sure purists will spit coffee at the screen yelling at no one in particular, but at the end of the day the best and cheapest product wins. Toyota anyone... If the quality is good the product will sell. Ural will always lose the quality race because sometimes getting much better over the years just isn't enough. |

It will be interesting to see how the Chiang goes in Australia. Not sure how good the quality actually will be in the end, if they're building to a price like a lot of other Chinese goods it may be questionable. Sure, Ural has some quality issues, but at least we have a good support network and a distributor who does their best to look after the brand here. I'd like to hope that these guys would do the same, but it remains to be seen, and will take some time to gain trust.

Just had a look at the new Chángs (on net)... look fairly good. lots of extras on board. Heard the engines on solos are reliable. Pity they didn't use a bigger CF Moto engine ?

Along the topic line of Chineasy stuff….
A mate bought a CF Moto recently.
First comment was “it is cheap but not cheap enough”
Second comment was “Put up with it for a week that will remain a week lost forever”.
Third comment was “traded it on an Aprilia”
He loves the Aprilia and it is only the LAMS model. 😳
