This is what the Ural family means. I am currently assembling a Ural gearbox that has been in a state of disassembly for many years and some of the parts were in an Auspost bag. Inside the bag there was also an invoice. All this brought back memories of ten years past… We were involved in a Ural owners tour in Victoria 2013 and while riding at Halls Gap one of the riders (Dave Ross) pulled up rapidly in front of me and leapt of the bike. When I stopped he said “I think I have been bitten by a snake”. No, not a snake, just the rubber drive coupling falling apart and being flung out hitting him in the leg. 🤣🤣 Back at camp a spare was offered up by Ural stalwart Norm and Dave was able to replace the offending snake……. Over the years Norm was known to carry more spares than Ural HQ. As the tour was to progress along the Murray towards Albury, it was decided to order a replacement for Norm and have it delivered to a Ural owner in Albury which allowed a few days for the snake to get there as well as the tour. So, what did the post bag and invoice reveal? A replacement part invoiced to Dave Ross of Lakes Entrance Vic. that had been provided initially by Norm of South Australia was ordered from Jon Taylor (Ural Oz Kentucky NSW) to be delivered to another Ural owner in Albury (Rob Clarke…..now sadly deceased) to be picked up by Norm to replenish his spare parts cache. That is what the Ural family means to me and why I love being a member of it.

A great family; simple to join. Possibly the best aspect of Ural ownership.
