My wife and I Left home in Hobart, travelled to Swansea (east),then Cranbrook road through Royal George old tin mine area. From Avoca up through hills to Rossarden. From there, up through hills, via many rough gravel roads, to Ringarooma. Incredible scenery over this section. Returned home via State Forest roads, that are a good test for Urals, rough, pot holes, and wet!! if anyone is contemplating on travelling to this area, I can highly recommend the Craggy Peaks accomodation. Really friendly host, great clean cabins, and fantastic bush walks. Mark

That looks like it was a lot of fun and not too cold I hope. I'll try to remember that area on my next Tassy trip.

It was a great ride Chris, cold in sections, heated gloves are a bonus!

Love the colour of the bike - awesome scenery too. One day I will get down there for a look, not sure the cold would agree though

yes Andy, Tas has some great rides, especially dirt roads. Always a bit of a challenge with our sudden weather changes

Nice area Mark! We really liked the Tarkine wilderness though real easy to get lost in that area even with a Zumo gps. I used topo maps on the Avenza iPhone app and it was brilliant! Satellites took over when we got out of phone range so knew exactly where we were all the time. Saved the day in the Otway Ranges VIC and also helped in the Gawler Ranges SA. A bunch of us on Urals rode up Jacobs Ladder on Ben Lomond a couple of years ago! Now that is a spectacular ride. Your fortunate indeed living in Tassie.

yes it is great exploring on the Ural down here. Jacobs ladder is amazing, like you say. Hairy going up there 25 odd years ago in the snow, with chains, in a WB panel van!! I must do the Tarkine, sounds great.
