I will post this on the Brissy FB site as well, but for those here the Rosewood run on the first Sunday of Feb is going to Goombungee. It was decided last year, since Ricki and Snuffles had come down to see us, that we would return the favour.
My plan is to head over Mt Glourious, have a feed at Esk and leave there around 7:45am - take the Biarra Road through Crows Nest and Peachy. Should take just over an hour to get to Goombungee.
Having said that I will check the fire map before leaving and the route might change at short notice.
I will let Chris post his route as he will be leaving from Ippy and I believe he is heading for Murphy's Creek.

Breakfast will be at Goombungee Antiques and cafe, it’s in the centre of town opposite the pub.

Might meet at the Enigmas Cafe unless you have a favorite place? Depending on the weather will depend on the route to Goombungee - if it is raining I will probably just take the Esk - Hampton road, if it is sunny I might go via Biarra. Both are just over an hour and should see us in Goombungee about 9,

I'm still expecting to make it on Sunday morn, via Laidley, Murphy's Ck, 15 Mile Rd, Hampton and Peachy/Maclagan RD. Might come back down the new Range Crossing to Helidon. Andy, I think you will need more than an hour for Esk to Goombungee via Biarra Rd. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Thanks Chris, yes I was looking at that yesterday - might just take the Esk - Hampton road. I have been on both, the Hampton road is paved all the way and the Biarra road has a very small piece of dirt but both are in pretty good condition (or they were before the fires). Done the new range crossing a few times in the work truck and would probably avoid it on the Ural but since there are some weird 90k areas it might not be that bad. Isn't it a toll road?

Bill&Dea met me at Esk with enough time for a coffee - needed one as I had just come across Mt Glorious. Left and headed towards Hampton, a little trouble with Bills beast meant Macca caught up while we were trying to figure out why it was running rough, plugs out and looked ok - floats drained and the problem went away. We all rolled into Goombungee 24 minutes late to find the place packed with Ural riders 7 all up, 5 pre 2014, 2 post and Macca's Svartpilen
I am sure the Cafe enjoyed the patronage - the Egg and Bacon toasty was huge.
