Flinders (Ranges) URAL Spring Adventure Ride
FUSA 2014 - 7th to 14th September
VARSTy is still a month away, but its never too early to plan.
Following the success of KIRSTy 2012 & 2013, and interest from riders in last June's Russian Outback Ride, a number of Uralists are eager for another South Australian springtime adventure. A number are especially keen to experience the northern parts of the state.
So we have decided to ride the wonderful Flinders Ranges & Arkaroola Wilderness later this year.
Arrangements are similar to KIRSTy and VARSTy in that each participant books their own accommodation, and generally is responsible for their own travel and food. Each of the places we are staying offer a good range of accommodation, from camping to cabins to higher quality(ie quite expensive) options. The ride gives us the opportunity to enjoy the company of other Uralists, while having fun riding in lovely parts of Oz.
There are no rules, little organization, and all are welcome to join in for any or all of the ride.
Accommodation in the Flinders is limited, and the area is very popular in spring. Some places are fully booked already for some of the nights we plan on being in the area. I have confirmed with each place we plan to stay that they currently have a good number of cabbins and tent/motorhome sites available.
If you are thinking about joining the fun I suggest you arrange accommodation sooner rather than later.
There are many great roads in the Flinders, and much to see and experience. Final decisions on each days rides will be decided during the ride, and will take into account weather and road conditions, and the group desire for comfort versus adventure.
The idea is to have fun and enjoy the ride, and improve our riding skills. And to enjoy each others company.

Note: The Prairie Hotel closes for maintenance during summer months and I have not been able to ensure they have vacancies, but they have a lot of 'overflow cabins' which I can recommend, and plenty of camping spaces.
If you want to be part of FUSA 2014, just book your accommodation and plan your route to Hawker. If you let me know you are coming, then even better.
