Hi guys, Just wondering about the protocol of non Urals on trips like FUSA, VARSTy etc. A mate with a Guzzi is interested in more trips and reckons our stuff looks good. Thanks

The Flinders Ranges Adventure is now less than 8 weeks away.
Spring is the peak season in the Flinders, and local tourist operators there are predicting this year will be the most spectaclular for possibly 20 years. Regular rain this past year, the right amount at the right time, will ensure the stunning landscape is at its very best.
Accommodation is still available at Angorichina; last Monday they still had 6 camp sites and 4 cabins available. They have a large bunkhouse as well, with a number of rooms holding 4 to around 20 beds. The Pajero club will be visiting at the same time and they have taken much of the accommodation offerings.
Arkaroola and Parachilna still have vacancies.
Anyone interested in joining the fun, and has not arranged accommodation, should finalise their bookings ASAP.
Google maps and Angorichina Tourist Village: Google maps tends to show Angorichina on the Port Augusta - Quorn road at 31 km south east of Quorn. We are NOT visiting here. Our Angorichina is in the Flinders proper, on the Parachilna - Blinman Road, 17 kms east of Parachilna.
Eleven bikes have confirmed participation, 2 from Qld, 5 from Vic and 4 locals; and another six are possible starters.
The Flinders is easily accessable, but is remote and retails outlets are limited. Riders will need to be self sufficient, and will need to assume responsibility for their bike's repair and maintenance. Between us we have a high level of expertise, but each rider should carry basic spares. Jon Taylor is now selling Adventure Spare kits, and I'm happy to email to anyone a list of the spares I alway carry. Donuts, cables, fuses, carb inlet flanges and the like can be the difference between an enjoyable trip and a bike stuck in the middle of nowhere...........
Below are accommadation details and my preliminary daily activity outline. I'm not big on planning daily details, and I have put this together as a rough suggestion only.
I've been asked if non- Urals owners can join us. The same questions were asked about VARSTy. I believe its all about having fun and that anyone is welcome to join us. But they have to put up with us, a bunch of happy, fun loving Ural riders.

Hi Norm, et al. The last trip up the Flinders I did, beginning of June worked out perfectly, and I was hoping for more of the same in September. Unfortunately, due to someone retiring at work, I am going on rotating shifts. This has thrown out all my plans involving two bands and FUSA, and I am afraid I can't do it. I missed VARSTy for similar reasons, so not happy. Looking forward to next time.

To help you free up time for VASTy 2015 here are the dates: Tuesday 10 March to Sunday 22 March, with the Cold Flame Rally the weekend prior.

Thanks Norm. I can meet you in Orroroo on the Saturday, and loop back home on Sunday/Monday. I was not planning for VARSTy next year as I am going to Thursday Island over Anzac weekend and probably Sydney over Easter. But a trip to the Cold Flame might be possible.

All systems go for me, booked in for an unpowered site at Orroroo and Angorichina, the rest I'll play by ear. I bought Jon's Adventure spares kit plus a few other bits and pieces so should be good to go I think. looking forward to it

I don't think camp ground bookings are accepted at Arkaroola, it's just a matter of turning up. I'll email you the latest info for those coming.
