Hello learned ones, well i got a flat yesterday, luckily i was near my local servo that does tyre repairs. it appears there was no rim tape hence the puncture.
Is there a prodder bar or similar usually in the tool roll, thinking how i would of got axle out on the road.
I have a tube and rim tapes on order.
thanks in advance

Glad to hear you were in the right place at the right time I have a punch that happens to be the same size as the hole in the axel but I guess a screwdriver would work. I don't use it to punch the axel out, but too draw it out by placing it in the hole and twist/pulling. If it needs a bit of persuasion then the soft wood "jack" comes in handy against a partially undone axel nut. I have never needed to force it. I use this Michelin tape.

thanks appreciate the reply i have the same rim tape on order, 2, one to replace the one we stole from the spare, and a spare. Yes lucky i was in the right place at right time.
Heavy duty tubes? looking at what's available, some are rated at 3mm and others at 4mm, any preference, im gathering weight isn't an issue on a Ural.

No idea what is in the trunk at the moment. I have used the spare often, but only replaced one tube on the road. Weight can be an issue, but I doubt a spare HD tube is going to matter - or did you mean 'tube rating' ?

Ploz is likely referring to “wheel weight” which can have an adverse effect on solo bikes steering and handling. Hardly an issue for us but I will comment once I go tubeless.....😜😜 I did not notice any difference when I went TL on my Honda outfit.

i had my original question answered when i rewatched the tyre change video from Ural USA. I thought i had seen a prodder bar but its just the spark plug cross bar. duh!! In reference to weight i was referring the weight of the item sitting in the trunk. The trunk items are slowly increasing. I had my fried "Jerry" travel with me on my solo outings ( 2o litre water drum) but he was replaced by "Dumbo" the dumbbell gym weight that takes up a lot less room and an extra 4kgs of ballast.
