After some recent misadventures I think I need a bash plate. Just some basic protection m nothing too heavy. I was looking at one of these ones , but the brackets come straight down from the frame and my GPR exhaust would be in the way. I would have to make some new brackets or modify these ones. Any other suggestions ?

Having made my own I thought the same when I first saw that bash plate........However, the mountings are just fitted incorrectly in the pic. Rotate them 180* and it should clear the exhaust. On second thoughts....no. The mount needs to come down from the inside of the frame rail.....not the centre. You may be able to see the S shaped mounts in the pic. Also, my experience tells me you do not really need anything that large on a Ural. My plate just protects the sump.

www.kalabercreations.com/engine-skid-plateThese folks make well built products (made in the USA). Might cost!...but you get what you pay for. I’m only guessing, but I reckon a skid plate is only as good as the brackets holding it in place so they’ve got to be good!...just sayin!..😎

Then I contacted hemisphere offroad and they had no problems shipping ($70) But if I get the hemisphere one I think I'll need to modify the brackets.

Cool , I cant really see your brackets but I get the idea , I'll need to make my own modifications to get it to fit. Do your brackets mount on the engine mounting bolts ? Or just on the frame ?

Engine mount bolts outside of frame. 👍 Ok thanks , no problems mounting them there ? There is enough thread on them ? If I make my own brackets I think it will be easier to mount them onto those bolts.

Plenty og thread. The R/H side has spacers on the inside.....if you wanted, you could remove these and replace with a mounting bracket. I chose the outside route just because it was easier to remove them if I needed to.
