A decent bash plate is a good thing, but I reckon it, and the brackets supporting it, has to be a full on strong piece of kit, capable of bouncing the weight of the bike over the obstacle without driving the plate into the exhaust or any part of the engine. Another concern of mine is mud buildup between the sump and bash plate in wet, muddy conditions (see pic) those cooling fins under the sump are there for a reason (Yep! get a stick and clean it out you say! I couldn’t imagine how many times one would have had to do that on the ride that pic was taken. Can imagine it would piss off those behind you bigtime every time you stopped). 😎

I’ll have to make some mods to make it work .

I was just thinking about why I have never had a mud issue with my sump guard for 10 years or so.......and then I remembered.....I had an oversized mudflap on the front. Damn, now I have another mod to do. That will be mod #40 🤣🤣 lockdown better be over soon.
