Does anyone have a plan for starter motor failure? No kicker. Or does the EFI prohibit kick start. Assuming battery is 100%.

Roll start easy peasy but the new starters are very good. What is your plan for when your car won’t start?……you ain’t pushing that on your own..

Starter issue, usually rock it in gear to free the ring gear. Not pushing or roll starting a Ural either unless a hill is handy. My point was, if battery is still good but starter is kaput. Can it still be kick started??

No go!...kick start!...Go! 😎 (just now)
Edit...remove a kickstart and it truely becomes useless.

Well I suppose if one did remove the kickstart they could keep it handy to flog their passenger with to encourage greater endeavours at a push start. Gives it a use then I guess. 😎

Geez if I get stuck somewhere and can’t get started without a kicker I think I will get my ass kicked by a couple of people…..🤣🤣🤣

I found the kick lever on my 2012 Ranger to be annoying in that it would vibrate against my calf. I though to remove it also, but decided to keep it,just in case. What I do though was cut out a wedge near the bend, and I re-profiled the curve (and re-welded) so that the foot bar is just off the frame when the kick lever is at the rest position. This moved it away from my leg and brings the lever higher which gives more of a stroke when setting it on compression when ready to kick it over.
While, I agree that using the kicker has a "knack to it" re-shaping the lever was a huge help also.
