Ladies and Gents.
Pros and cons of sidecar wheel mudguard mounted luggage rack?
In addition pro's and cons of luggage mounts forward of the sidecar wind screen.
Just realised, they're not part of the "Adventure Pack" Unless I'm mistaken.
Thanks in advance Haitch.

Just realised, they're not part of the "Adventure Pack" Unless I'm mistaken. Thanks in advance Haitch. Fully loaded for two people camping for one week. Easily maintained 90kms/hr, no instability, negotiated dirt roads easily. Important to balance the load and adjust shocks to suit.😎

Thanks "wheels" I had noted your rig looked very well organised. What do you typically load on the front and sidecar mudguard rack?

I’ve only done one solo camping trip so I didn’t need to use the side rack. It will be handy to strap something light , like a tent or sleeping bag. the main advantage of the side rack is for the sidecar monkey to sit on as they get in and out of the sidecar , it saves the mud guard from scratches.

Thanks "wheels" I had noted your rig looked very well organised. What do you typically load on the front and sidecar mudguard rack? SC mudguard rack….Redverz tent 6kg SC front/side…………..Water container full 5kg Fuel container full 5kg SC nose…………………..Bag with dry goods, eating utensils etc at least 6kg note!….passenger weight 62kg. I would be a little reluctant to add more weight to the SC mudguard if the passenger weight was more, and carrying a larger load than normal on the boot rack. SC Shock bottoming out or the tyre touching mudguard may be an issue on rough roads (that’s if the mudguard doesn’t fall or break off beforehand) Cheers Wheels 😎

Interestingly, Jon the coach, actually suggested an easy way for the monkey to board was to sit on the mudguard as the first step to getting in. Then kind of slide in, off the mudguard. Saves doing the left leg vs right leg shuffle. lol. Anyway, you are indeed correct. It will save scratching. Especially if the bum region is covered in mud or debris.

Don’t have the rack on the mudguard, but the way John Taylor described getting in snd out is the way Simone does this, have not encounted any scratching so far.

Princess has been sitting on and sliding over the guard for a decade and it has been fine. I would not fit the standard URAL rack there just incase she grabbed it if slipping while getting in or out……they are very sharp underneath and her titanium fingers have cost me a fortune…..🤨

Can it be deburred or is a custom tube jobbie in order? Thanks Lee.
