Just wondering how effective people are finding the Air Box/ Filter on their bikes. Has anyone considered a sock over inlet or oiled foam filter in the inlet to minimize dust into the filter. Only done 1300km since new filter at service and after only 60 odd km following a couple of bikes on my last ride was surprised at amount of dust entry in airbox. Am not sure lid on box seals too well, plastic on plastic, no sort of seal. Any thoughts from brains trust. Cheers Pokey.

Never had the issue with my previous EFI bike……but I had the box top turned around facing the rear with the nozzle up under the seat. I prefer the washable filter for those unavoidable “dust follow” rides or just claim to be slow and hang back out of the dust….🤣🤣

Old dirt bike trick is to apply a light coat of grease to inside of airbox, attracts dust which would otherwise end up in the element.

So there are a few options filter wise are there? I was just a bit surprised after such a short run behind others and I was hanging well back I thought. Cheers Pokey.

Looked at putting some foam in the air box intake as I have these on my GSA but the Ural intake in quite small, I think this would foul very quickly. To reverse it as Lee stated sounds like a good idea, or I just gotta learn to ride quicker and get out in front. Not sure that will work either with you guys.

I had mine reversed because it was the only way to get it to fit with the earlier fuel tank mount in the way.

The inlet to the air box could also be routed into the sidecar boot. Just like the Diatlov crew did to theirs. That would also allow the fording of some humongous deep crossings.🤣🤣🤣
