Just had a look at mine, both O'Rings need replacing, but the Thrust Bearing looks good. There is some slight wear on the clutch release rod at both ends but nothing surprising. Based on that, I doubt the Thrust Bearing is the cause of the Marble in Jar sound and more likely to be, as Lee suggested, the plates moving on the spline so I pulled the box off. Spline has some wear but nothing horrible, driven plates internal splines look ok and the coat of moly spray is still on the internal teeth and the GB drive spline and hasn't migrated to the plates. The portion of the driven clutch plate I can see still has a couple of mm of material on it.
Now I have to decide whether I get a clutch set, springs and fasteners and do the maintenance now or throw it all back together. I am also in half a mind to dismantle the box because I have seen a video on the easy way to put the kick start spring back in and that was the only thing stopping me last time. Could be a good time to investigate the crunchy down shift from third to second.
