Sidecars are not great in sand……even 2wd also very hard on the engine for prolonged periods. In the sand, you need “light”.

I have done similar sandhills north of Port Augusta on a variety of trail bikes with the appropriate tyres/pressures, I very much doubt that a sidecar would make the distance especially carting all the gear you would need for the Simpson crossing.

Yes mate, 350/450 solo is the go for the sand.
