Loctite……r & r bearing Grub screw in swingarm…..drill and tap between seal and bearing. Circlip on spline coupling…..requires groove to be machined in spline coupling……If this is being done where I think, then there could be rotational friction between the circlip and swingarm if it moves….hmmm !

So where is Ural Australia in this?? We have options. What did Ural in the "High Tower" recommend?? Nothing like a better mouse trap🤣🤣😎 While I'm at it. I cannot help but wonder why all of these "Ural" sanctioned changes are discovered by accident. Nothing that I can recall has been announced by Ural Australia or the Authorised distributors or Service agents. Eg In recent times gearbox, remap, swingarm. All discovered through this forum and enquiries made following issues in the USA. What is the problem??

When was the last time a car manufacturer sent you an email listing their changes (and there are always many) to your vehicle……..they just don’t, unless it is a recall. If you don’t have a problem, then you really don’t need to know anything….🤣🤣🤣 Also must remember URAL USA drives the technical stuff…..and they have faff all experience with the left 2wd. Theirs is way different so they can only learn from us.
A dealer that sells 5 or 10 bikes a year does not learn much either……😳

I would expect to be advised by my dealer and/or Ural Australia. I'm not one to bury my head in the sand and wait for the crap to hit the fan. As far as the swing arm goes. I found out about that through one of our brethren going to get his remap. That alerted me to ask more questions. I am told my Vin was outside the range. But they are checking anyway. I don't know the vin range yet. I believe the US dealers are much more transparent with their customers. I think we can be a knowledge hub for the Lefties if we can share from our learnings. The UK, NZ and South Africa can all be part of the Lefty resource pool.

Just revisited the schematic again. I'm not 100% sure, but there is no room to grub screw between bearing and seal.

The bearings have a rounded shoulder. I have done this many years ago and you just have to pick up that corner and they don’t move. H, perhaps if yours was in the ViN range, you would have been notified.

Not so. I did the investigation using Jon Heindl to establish the Vin range. It was me who asked EB what they knew. (Nothing) I talked to others in and outside the forum to confirm the issue was real. (Gearbox) Your own actions confirm we are of like minds. Both prefer to mitigate risk of failure in some way. (Axle extraction, machining axle flange face and axle spline lead in) We both are doing the same thing. Not burying our heads in the sand or waiting for a recall before taking action. Remember, simple for you is not simple for many other owners. Who have neither the knowledge or the skills.
