I also have the standard Jerry can, Haitch. And the shovel is still the shovel. I try to reduce weight as much as possible in that area. Lee, maybe im missing something. I still consider myself a greenhorn on this thing. I had chair preload on second setting with the fully loaded bike. That was sort of okay on bitumen, but once on gravel the right hand corners became very hairy, felt more like a boat. I then went to 4th position which was a considerable improvement. Also my wife said the ride was way more comfortable. While we had a good load I don't think we were overloaded and my wife is definitely not heavy. I haven't tried the standing on step all loaded, but there is probably already 20mm sag. Will try in next few days. Any suggestions are much appreciated Taz. I'm far from an expert. I cranked the sc shock up to pos 2 for normal use. Ie with the missus(light hope she aint watching) our goat tracks became more comfortable. I figured, doing that would stand the solo side up, help it not go left on our very crowned b and c roads. Fully loaded I might go some more. Or my HCS will arrive and I'll need to start again lol.

Been looking at their web page with a view to fitting 1 or 2 onto "Ruby" I did a web search on here for some info and picked up what wheels and Tvan had done. I noted wheels uses fuel and water in the 3.8 Litre size and mounted on the left front of the chair. Tvan mounted a Rotopax water container back where the shovel was . Left side rear on the chair. Mate, if you are still tuned in. What size was that container?? Is anyone else using them and willing to provide any insights which would be appreciatted. I have been looking at the load dynamics, specifically regarding fitment "outside the triangle" ie at the front as wheels has done. Also wondering if a stacked pair can be fitted where Tvan mounted his. Or perhaps the sidecar lighting may be obscured. Opinions please and first hand experience welcome. Cheers. Haitch I run a 3.8l on my Dakar 650, it's mounted above and just behind the front axle as is my soft luggage bags etc. I'm thinking ahead about load dynamics. I see a lot of luggage on the nose rack of some outfits and wonder what effect is has on handling. I'm hoping to hit the ground running, so to speak, for delivery of my 2023 GU in April/May? I am interested to know how much space there is between the seat /high exhaust and the full container hoping to reuse my Enduristan bags somewhere.

If there are two of us and luggage, the only thing that goes on the nose is the wet weather gear. An overloaded rear is far better than weight in the front if you ride as I do. This is my bike fully loaded on a camping trip last week.

First time out and with the right bag resting on the heat guard and still burned a hole in the bit of bag forward of where the heat shield ends. I made an aluminium piece to extend the heat shield further. The bags on your dakar look a bit big in my old eyes. Perhaps a tall custom frame over the seat to keep them clear.

I will check it out in Uralla and Kentucky when we are there Friday week, Enduristan sells heat shields that may assist?
