Found this today and couldn't find it anywhere on here. Haven't looked at SS. Company in the Netherlands called > Ural Electric < While I realize some of you will be spitting coffee at the screen and yelling at no one in particular - this isn't for you. I posted this for the rest of us.

I've got nothing against EV's, but I can go 250km on my bike, fill up with fuel in 3 minutes, and go 250km again, ad infinitum. Try that on an electric Ural!
Cheers

Pure EV is possibly the biggest con on the planet. Hybrid combined ev/hydrogen or gasolene using a fuel cell to recharge the ev side as you travel.. Some trucking companies in WA already using it.

Andy, do you keep yours in the house or garage? I keep my ‘can of worms’ in my office alongside the opener. 🤣🤣🤣

Andy, do you keep yours in the house or garage? ... No can of worms intended Lee and honestly if this is all we can manage as a reaction then it was a waste of fishing line. Last time it was brought up there was far more vitriol. Having said that I am genuinely interested in modifications good or bad. I've got nothing against EV's, but I can go 250km on my bike, fill up with fuel in 3 minutes, and go 250km again, ad infinitum. Which is fine, but totally misses the point of having a Ural. If I wanted to do 250k's fill and go ad infinitum I would drive As it is I find that after the second fill my old bones are screaming for a full stop - especially now I have managed to fracture another vertebrae (another Ural story that involves me stuck on a fence and ends up by me being run over by my own bike) Pure EV is possibly the biggest con on the planet... Totally agree, but it is only a con if you think one solution will solve all the problems. We tend to forget that fuel driven vehicles were not the first kids on the block.

Andy, the forum has been a bit quiet lately so I was glad to see something I thought may spark some conversation. 🤣
………..😳Have you had an incident involving your Ural? Another vertebrae? Does not sound great but hope you are and will be ok.
Now, back to electrickery. I am well into solar and batteries. 37 panels and 2 batteries run the house. As an automotive Technician I still have friends in the industry and the conversation has been ongoing for about 30 years now. We used to have a bloody good laugh at the fools wanting to convert cars to electric. Back then, we discussed all of the cons. There were no pro’s that were obvious other than doing it for the sake of the exercise. The cons are still there. Some have decreased and some are worse…….batteries were a whole lot cheaper back then but had less capacity. In 30 years I have gone from saying “I will NEVER have an electric car” to considering that my wife could easily manage with one………hardly ever travels more than 50km in a day and it does not matter if not fully charged the next morning. Development continues but I still can’t see me with an electric car or motorcycle.. If scooters were legal, I would have one now.
TODAY……in Brisbane the grid is subject to overload and brown outs due to the heat expected. Hope my friends there don’t need to charge their cars. 🤣🤣
