Just after an opinion. I’ve only just noticed that my rear caliper is not centred on the rotor. I’ve just replaced the back tyre and only noticed when putting the caliper back on, that the seam in the caliper isn’t centred on the middle of the rotor edge. I know it’s a floating disc, but what do you think? I have no idea whether it’s always been like this or something has changed since changing the tyre. All the correct spacers in place and all tight as per specs.
To centre it, I’d need to remove 1.5mm from the caliper itself.
Further, how hard is your axle to get out on a 2wd? Mine needs a good wallop… both in and out….
Bound for TAS this coming Thursday so want to be sure we’re good to go.

Lee had a bucket load of trouble to get his axle out. Early ones had a few axles that were not true with the flange on the FD end. Lots of bearings and seals in the FD/Hub and left side swing arm axle area. Not what you wanted to hear, But what was the state of the axle when you had it out?? Cant help with the caliper issue, except to ask how are the pads? Do the brake pistons still move in and out as they should? Hopefully, someone more knowledgable might chime in. Perhaps given the urgency, call Matt at Ural on Monday.

It is not a floating disc. It is a floating caliper though……as such, it should not be an issue. I have spacers on the caliper mount to centre mine but can’t remember the standard setup as mine is a fixed caliper…..much modified.

I have spacers on the caliper mount to centre mine but can’t remember the standard setup as mine is a fixed caliper…..much modified. I understood the 2022 GU was a fixed Brembo rear caliper with a two piece (as in floating) rotor. At least that’s what I’m looking at on my bike. The caliper isn’t centred on the rotor edge, however the pads are wearing evenly and there is no binding. I’ve probably just been paranoid, as on my Harley if the rotor isn’t centred it will bind, but it’s fixed rotor and floating caliper, with a lazy pad. Axle shaft looks fine, just a bit hard to get out and back in. Can’t see if it’s out of plumb, and don’t have a lathe to check it. So as the bike is going and stopping perfectly, I’ll leave well enough alone.

Sorry, does your 22 have two calipers on the rear?………have not sighted one of these yet.

Lots of people do anyway.😜😜 Surely not Lee. The bike has done 10k Kms now with it that way so I guess it’s fine as it is. Surprised you haven’t see the new set up yet? If I think of it, I’ll photograph it and post it.
