Hi All, I'm trying to replace the rear pads on my 2020 Ranger. getting them off was easy, but I can't get the "piston" to go back, so that the thicker new pads will fit inside the caliper, and around the rotor.. I've backed off the adjustment at the foot pedal, the handbrake is off the bike completely, the cap is off the fluid reservoir. I've tried a G clamp to move it, in the past I normally use a bent screwdriver to push the piston back far enough to get the new pads in. Am I missing something? ?? Thanks Mick

Remove the lever from the caliper so the mechanical park brake can wind back fully alowing the piston to return fully also.

I once dropped mine off for its 5,000 km service and they replaced the rear caliper because it was seized. Something something dragging brakes and heat, known issue blah blah. $1500 and two months wait.
When I picked the bike up I asked them for the part, there was no evidence of overheating on the caliper body or piston. There was a mark ground into the face of the piston and deformation on the end of the parking brake screw suggesting they had used a G Clamp to try and compress the piston. I backed off the parking brake stem and gently pushed the piston back in with my thumbs.
Never went back there... as it is they are no longer in business.
If anyone wants a complete caliper with piston, I think it is still in the box of spares somewhere.
