Hi all I have got a new bike , & would like to install an auxiliary battery in the side car mainly for charging purposes eg. phone etc. I had a 23 base 2up model there is a ( electric connection plug up front of tank protruding out )can I just connect to the plug and run over to the side car or will I run new lines over to keep auxiliary battery charged . Cheers Marty

Hi marty.i have a 2022. There should be a cig socket in the sidecar. Charge off that?? Buy a usb socket and plug in there. Or attach a handlebar usb and power it direct from the battery/live point on the ignition switch??

Run a suitable wire to carry starting amps and fit a manual cut off switch to isolate when camping etc.

Marty. Another idea is to buy a lithium battery bank and charge your phone off that. 20,000mah will give about 6 phone charges. I use them to also charge camera batteries. You could leave that in the sc on permanent charge if needed.

Hi Haitch I ended up getting a gel slim battery, it has a bit of weight which I think I need, my dog is a light weight Kelpie so I’m thinking to keep the chair down a bit , so it should be good enough for me
