Hello brains trust. What after market mufflers are being used on post 2022 engines? Pipe size? Thanks in advance. I installed the GPR, an expensive option, it eliminates all cats, not crazy loud. Does it improve performance, not sure, does it sound better, yes. A fellow Uralist complained of overheating on his 2022 GU, replaced his with a modified MV Augusta muffler and eliminated two of the cats. Reduced overheating since also added a oil cooler. Better still I passed the original 2023 complete exhaust system on to a Ural restoration job including the original shocks for a token $500. The alternative would be for it to take up space with my 1150GSA and 650Dakar exhausts, should of sold or given them away years ago!

What was the driver for your mate to pick the MV Augusta muffler? Was it pipe size or availability? Or something else. On the noise side. I think you howled past us on the motorway back to Port Mac. Sounded awesome. On another related matter. Is anyone up in your neck of the woods playing with tricking the ECU in to delivering a richer mixture yet?

I used a Delcevic with pipe for sv650. Just had to make the 2-1 myself. Originally chose the carbon muffler but it was not up to the pounding I gave the bike on the last OCR so they replaced it with stainless. Shame because I loved the look of the carbon on my grey bike.

He hasn't had the Ural software connected to his bike as yet but has a good local mechanic working on it. I'm far from an expert but is it running too lean and causing the issues? I'll ask Tommy Newell who does the mechanical stuff for BJ's the Brisbane Ural dealer what he thinks. This weekend I'm changing oils now at 5000k, that's about as far as I go on maintenance and why I don't own an older Ural.
