Just wondering if anyone knows who the Aus distributor for Duro tyres is? I have done a Google search and have come up with a few different websites, none of which seem all that up to date. I have a new tyre on order from Jon but the postage is a killer so would like to be able to get them from a local shop in the future. I think it would probably reduce the number of dumb looks I get and increase my chances of success if I can tell the local guy who the distributor is Cheers. Paul.

I get Heidenau and Duro tyres from a local motorcycle shop. Jon's prices, plus freight , are still $25 to $30 less than the local shop's prices. I can't fit Heidenau k37s, so if I add the cost of paying to have a tyre from Jon fitted the cost is about the same as buying locally. I use k37s on the pusher (and therefore spare and sidecar) & Duro 308s on the front of both bikes. 308s are available in both 4 and 6 ply, and the 6 ply is the tyre supplied by Ural as original equipment & sold by Jon. I make sure when I order them that I'm getting the stiffer 6 ply. Don at GC Motorcycle Tyres, 08 8377 5566, sells to me and will be able to tell you the Aussie distributors.

Hi Norm, What is the reasoning behind different tyres for the front? Not yet had to replace any of mine, although I plan to rotate the back 3 this weekend when I do the scheduled service. Cheers, Scott

Scott, I like the Heidenau k37 because is lasts 30 to 40 percent longer on the pusher than Duro 308s. Cost per km is about the same for both tyres. Its knobby tread still works well on the road, in both wet and dry conditions, about the same as the Duro. It's possibly better offroad.
In my opinion, The k37 isn't as good as the 308 on the front. Grip is well down, and as the tyre wears front wheel vibration increases, quite significantly.
I reckon the 308 is a good Ural tyre, but using k37s result in similar overall costs and less frequent tyre changes. And they look good.

Paul & Scott, remember you both qualify for Jon's 15% discount on parts and accessories. Rides like VARSTy, FUSA & the October Adv Ride qualify owners for the Adventure riders discount. And you can buy a badge.
