Hello, My sidecar spotlights are not activated by high beam in that they do not go off when I go to low beam. These means that I have to turn them off manually via the switch on right handlebar. I find that badly positioned and awkward to use. I have a couple of questions about this: - Is that typical or is theirs something wrong with mine that the spots do not go off with low beam
- If it is typical of the Ural then can I wire the relay in the sidecar into the high beam circuit of the main headlamp so they are only on when on high beam. IF so where in the bike wiring did you do this or better still how did you do this?
- I have noticed a couple of wires with connectors hanging out of the sidecar fuse box where the relay is. One red (straight connector) the other Blue (Right angle connector - see photo). Both come from the same fuse and there is also a white wire connected to the main circuitry going in there. Is this normal or should they be connected to something. Better still what are they for.
I am making a dash for the sidecar for all of the charging outlets I need (see second pic). That is important for my camping, photography and filming activities. While I am doing that I would like to solve the light issue. Thanks in Advance JT

Hi JT, have done exactly what you wish to do for SC lights working with high beam. You need to pick up the HB wire behind the headlamp and use that as the trigger wire to the relay.

We have done the same, beware the switch on the handlebars is a negative wire so you will need to rewire the power, earth etc to the relay in the SC, as Lee says use the headlight main beam wire as your trigger to the relay 👍

It WAS 3 years ago…..🤣

I would have but the switch died with rain/water intrusion so we just took it off, still got the switch take to a dealership for replacement
