The K28s certainly look good, and have been available in 18 inch since 2012. But I haven't seen any reports from users. They cost around 65% more than Duro 308s. In my opinion 308s are fine. Metzler make a nice looking 18inch sidecar tyre that some Retros originally ran. Jon stocks them. Heidenau tyres should be available from any motorcycle tyre dealer. The importer is in Vic. Jon's prices, after sad find in delivery cost, are competitive. Especially after the 15% adv riders discount. I'm glad you used up the strange spare. Another mark against Ural dealers. It was supplied by the selling dealer to the original owner who wanted a spare wheel. A good reminder as to why I have very little confidence in most Ural dealers.

Glad I used it too. AND it wasn't balanced - could tell the difference as soon as it was fitted to the pusher.

I bought a heap (10) of Duro 308's. They are a good tyre on road or dirt tracks. Whatever you get, make sure you get 6 ply.... I manage around 10000km from them on the pusher. Duro importer is Ron Angel Wholesale in Melbourne so your local bike shop should be able to get them for you...... 18's are more common than our 19's so should be cheaper. I paid about $80.00 so if you are paying $100 for tyres.......you are paying too much !

I used Avon SM's on my yellow terror. Good value, a great tread pattern (almost like the old trials tyres) and fantastic grip. Wish I still had that machine! Every time I see a dirt road heading off over the hills, I want to go there! I believe Urals are still for sale in OZ - some are even yellow...............

My rear K37 needs replacing soon (it's between illegal and bald as a badger) and has lasted 12000km
