Just some feedback : i have finally had my 2014 EFI re-mapping completed. This is the latest program available from Jon and sent out to the dealers in December 2015.
Thoughts are: she is idling slightly higher in the rev range and much smoother , sounds a lot different [ not like a chaff cutter now ] starts easier and seems to pull stronger from idle. mid range revs when on the road at 60 plus kms/hrs is very sweet . Gone are the small crack pops at low revs . I have only done 50kms today but I have been told the EFI module will re-learn and balance out more on the good side with more kms. One might say that the Ural is at long last running as expected.
Cheers

Hey Rob,
Did your dealer charge for the install or was it just part of the 2014 update ? If a charge was involved what did he sting you ?
I would like to get mine done as it is running okay but I can see room for improvement and have always felt it is running too lean , and too far advanced on the ignition .
Cheers,
Andrew

Hi Andrew ,
Considering how my 2014 EFI was running on delivery I would like to say the upgrades should have been free whilst still inside the warranty period, but not so this one was $60. It did take them over an hour to sort out the remapping , PC Program not responding so they said .
My thoughts have always been Ural should never have released the EFI Ural until it was 100% . [ US Market compliance was always the excuse, emissions etc ]
If the new remapping means a richer/fuel air ratio and less pinging and avoids lean combustion issues which creates excessive heat in the chamber then maybe the engine will have a longer life outside the warranty period.
Cheers
Rob

Hi Rob ,
Totally agree with your thoughts re EFI . They were a shocker with the first mapping but I managed to get every update as they were available so it hasn't been too bad and I am careful to try and not over heat the thing. It is amazing how well it runs on a cool crisp winters night with the cold dense air and then pinks it's head off in the heat of the day.
Will get the new mapping done before NARSTy
Cheers,
Andrew.
